Lan mil huit cent soixante dix neuf le seize janvier à dix heures du matin par devant nous Marsot Xavier, maire, officier de létat civil de la commune dEtueffont Haut, canton de Giromagny, Territoire de Belfort ont comparu publiquement en notre maison commune Lambalot Jules Alexis, âgé de vingt-cinq ans, cultivateur, domicilié en Etueffont Haut, où il est né le vingt-trois juillet mil huit cent cinquante trois, fils majeur de Lambalot Nicolas, âgé de soixante huit ans, cultivateur, domicilié au même lieu, ci présent et consentant, et de ?? Madin? Catherine, décédée à Etueffont Haut le dix huit avril mil huit cent soixante neuf dune part, et demoiselle Jeudy Marie Claire, âgée de vingt-un ans, couturière domiciliée à Etueffont Haut, où elle est née le vingt-cinq décembre mil huit cent cinquante sept, fille majeure de Jeudy Nicolas, décédé au même lieu le neuf juillet mil huit cent soixante quatre et de Milberg Joséphine décédée à Etueffont Haut le trois octobre mil huit cent soixante quatre, les dits et sus dits naissances et décès constaté par les registres de lEtat Civil de notre commune que nous avons sous les yeux. La future épouse procédant comme libre dans lexercice de ses droits ses père et mère aïeux et aïeules étant tous décédés, dautre part, les futurs époux ainsi que les quatre témoins désignés ci après, nous ont affirmé avec serment quils ignorent le lieu du décès et le dernier domicile des aïeuls et aïeules de la future épouse, puis ils nous ont requis de procéder à la célébration du mariage projeté entre eux et dont les publications ont étés faites devant la principale porte dentrée de notre maison commune, les dimanches cinq et douze janvier courant de la présente année, chaque fois à lheure de midi ainsi quil résulte de la vérification de publications de notre commune, aucune opposition au dit mariage ne nous ayant été signifiée, et les futurs époux ainsi que les personnes autorisant le mariage ayant déclare sur notre interpellation , quils ne sont pas parents et quils na pas été fait entre eux de contrat de mariage, faisant droit à leur réquisition après avoir donné lecture de chapitre six titre cinq de code Napoléon intitulé de mariage, ainsi que de toutes les pièces mentionnées ci-dessus avons demandé au futur époux et à la future épouse sils veulent se prendre pour marie et pour femme chacun deux ayant répondu séparément et affirmativement déclarons au nom de la loi que Lambalot Jules Alexis et Jeudy Marie Claire sont unis par le mariage de quoi nous avons aussitôt dressé acte en presence de Lambalot Nicolas, âgé de trente cinq ans, de Lambalot Thiébaud, âgé de vingt trois ans, tous deux cultivateurs et frères du nouvel époux et de Petitjean François Ignace, âgé de quarante six ans, de Jeudy Deile?, âgé de cinquante trois ans, tous deux cultivateurs et oncles de la nouvelle épouse, les trois premiers domiciliés à Etueffont Haut et le quatrième domicilié à Grosmagny, témoins choisis par les parties les quels ont signé avec nous ainsi que les parties contractantes après lecture leur en a été faite.

In the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine, on the sixteenth of January at ten oclock in the morning before us, Marsot Xavier, Mayor, official of civil registration of the village of Etueffont Haut, Giromagny District, Territoire de Belfort, publicly appeared in the Town Hall Lambalot Jules Alexis, aged twenty-five, farmer, resident in Etueffont Haut, where he was born, on 23 July one thousand eight hundred and fifty three, son of Lambalot Nicolas, aged 68, farmer, resident in the same place, here present and consenting and Madin? Catherine who died at Etueffont Haut on the 18 April one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine on one hand, and Miss Jeudy Marie Claire, aged twentyone, dressmaker, resident in Etueffont Haut, where she was born on twenty fifth December one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven, daughter of Jeudy Nicolas, who died in the same place on 9 July 1864 and Milberg Joséphine, who died in Etueffont Haut on 3 October 1864, the aforementioned births and deaths proved by the registers of our village which we have under our eyes. The future husband proceding as free in the exercise of his rights his father and mother and grandparents being all deceased, on the other hand, the future couple as well as the under-mentioned four witnesses, have affirmed to us, under oath, that they do not know either the place of death of his ancestors or the place of their last residence, thus they require us to proceed to the celebration of the marriage planned between them and of which the banns have been published on the main entrance door of the Town Hall on the Sundays fifth and twelfth of the present month of January of this year, each time at midday at the main door of the Town Hall at midday, so that it results in the verification of the register of banns in our village, no opposition to the marriage having been expressed to us, and the future couple as well as the persons authorising the marriage having declared that they are not related and that there has not been made between them any other contract of marriage, their demand after having read to them chapter VI of the Code Napoléon about marriage, as well as all the abovementioned papers (we) have asked the future couple if they wish to take each other as husband and wife each of them having replied separately and in the affirmative (we) declare in the name of the law that Lambalot Jules Alexis and Jeudy Marie Claire are united by that marriage for which we have immediately drawn up this record in the presence of
