Uniform of an infantryman in the 38th Infantry Division. Made up of men from the Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia National Guard, the division was nicknamed "Cyclone" and fought in New Guinea, the Southern Philippines and Luzon. This soldier was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Army Good Conduct Medal and Phillipine Liberation ribbon with star.

Small Japanese saki cup with mums and Imperial Army star motif. These cups were made with numerous designs such as the different branches of the service, dedications, etc.

Two examples of Japanese Type 30 rifle bayonets. The example on the bottom still has it's original leather frog attached; rubberised tropical frogs were also issued. The Japanese soldier was well trained in the use of the bayonet; contemorary photographs invariably show them going into action with bayonets fixed.

Well used example of the type canteen used by the Japanese Naval Landing Forces. Missing from this example is the cloth over-the-shoulder carrying strap.

Heavy wool Japanese Army winter overcoat. The soldier who wore this added another pocket to the chest for easier access. A hood is stored inside the collar.

U.S. Navy "crackerjack" uniform jumper, showing the ribbons for the American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. Of interest is the ruptured duck worn on the right breast - it was sewn on backwards.
