Cold War certificate presented to Air Force Staff Sergeant Anna L. Conrad. In response to numerous requests for an official Cold War Victory Medal, the Secretary of Defense approved awarding Cold War Recognition Certificates in the 1998 National Defense Authorization Act to Cold War era veterans and members of the Armed Forces who faithfully and honorably served the United States any time during the Cold War era, designated as September 2nd, 1945 through December 26th 1991. The cold war certificate can also be awarded posthumously.

Shoulder sleeve insignia of the Berlin District, worn from the late 1940's to about 1961. It's colors of red, black, and golden yellow symbolise the colors of the West German flag.                                                                                                                                                                                                      

This booklet, produced by Headquarters, Air Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio in August 1951, gives helpful hints to surviving an atomic attack. In addition to describing how and where to take cover, it provides tips on food and water consumption, controlling rumors, and expected radiation levels.
