Anna's Sewing Room

Hi! My name's Anna.  Sewing could easily be called my passion, and it is certainly my stress reliever!   I've been doing some sort of needlework since I was a very small girl. My Mum taught me to embroider and then sew.  I only took one sewing class in high school, but the teacher left me alone when she realised I knew more about what I was doing than she did!  Everything else I've learnt since then has been from books and magazines.  My husband is in the United States Air Force, and we're currently stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.  We recently moved here after spending nine years at Ramstein Air Base, Germany {near Kaiserslautern, home of a Pfaff factory!}.  We have five children : Megan {10}, Laura {9}, Matthew {5}, Sarah {3}, and our newest addition, Amy {4 mos}.  I especially enjoy smocking and heirloom sewing and five children certainly keep me busy with projects.  When my husband bought my Pfaff 1475CD, I don't think he knew what he was starting!  I now also have 7570 as well as a 788 serger.  And of course, I have a fabric stash that we won't even discuss!  I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland {Sir William Wallace aka "Braveheart" is a distant relative} but I've lived so many places I say I'm from everywhere.  As well as sewing, I also enjoy collecting teddy bears and old sewing items.  Two newer hobbies for me are decorative painting and scrapbooking.
