Borax is a natural ingredient in many of the insecticides used in the log industry and is quite safe for use around animals and children as well as grown-ups.

I like to use Pene-Treat. It is a powder and all you need to do is place the powder in warm water to make a solution, Instructions on container.

When you have your home built and are ready to finish you need to apply two applications of insecticide with a low pressure garden sprayer. Allow to dry and continue with your stain and filling cracks and holes. I cover the stain etc. under another heading.
