The US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) has released a DNS vulnerability notification (http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/800113). This vulnerability is being highly publicized for both its pervasive impact (most versions of DNS servers across most operating systems), as well as the admirable collaborative effort in the Open Source and Commercial communities to release patches to fix it the same day it was announced.

DONet will be applying patches to all systems affected by this vulnerability (including systems we manage on behalf of our customers) Thursday night, July 10, around midnight EST. DNS services may be briefly interrupted, and managed Windows servers that require an update will need to be rebooted. We advise our customers who think they may be affected by this vulnerability to patch their DNS systems as well.
