[MAINTENANCE] E-Mail Server Upgrades 04/27/06

On Thursday, April 27, beginning at 5:00pm, DONet system administrators will begin maintenance on our e-mail cluster. The maintenance is expected to last for several hours, but will be done by midnight at the latest. During this period, there will be no down time of the cluster. You will be able to send and receive messages as usual. During this maintenance, certain clusters of servers will be reduced in number for a short period of time, which may result in a higher than normal mail delay. However, it is not expected that any significant delay will result. The maintenance involves adding another virus scanning server, moving our virus scanners to the front line, and putting outgoing mail service on a separate cluster of machines. This maintenance will lead to a better mail experience for all DONet customers. Please note that you do not need to make any changes on your end. Your mail settings will stay the same.
