For Immediate Release: On March 15th, GemAIR migrated more than 700 dial-up and e-mail accounts to DONet. GemAIR is a local ISP owned by Dayton Microcomputer Association (DMA), a non-profit organization for computer enthusiasts that has been in existence since the 1970s. Due to GemAIR’s small size, increased competition and costs, DMA decided to close the ISP. Clearly, providing a smooth transition for their customers was a top priority. Which is why GemAIR chose DONet. “Our customers are used to a high level of personal service.” Paul Ahlquist, president of GemAIR explained. “At DONet, all the technologies are in place AND they offer real, local customer service. That’s a meaningful difference to us– and our customers.” DONet, which has been in business for nearly eleven years, is a complete Internet resource. The Dayton-based company brings an impressive level of expertise, flexibility, and a true partnership approach to everything from connectivity to application development to web design. “We are honored to be GemAIR’s choice.” said DONet president, David Mezera. “We are doing everything in our power to make this transition an easy one.” To achieve a seamless migration, DONet has created server space for all GemAIR accounts. They also developed a customized solution that enables these customers to retain much of their usernames and passwords, as well as keep their @gemair.com e-mail addresses. “DONet was able to offer us the custom touch that we needed,” Ahlquist stated. “They went the extra mile to make sure that our customers had a clean experience. Thanks to their efforts, we’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response.” This migration has other benefits, as well. Customers will be eligible for broadband DSL service, a higher speed Internet access that was unavailable through GemAIR. Better yet, those who choose to upgrade will only pay a few dollars more than they are currently paying for dial-up service. In addition, DONet provides longer support hours, better pricing, and faster connections to the Internet backbone. For more information, contact David Mezera at 937.226.6896, extension 3510. |
